Crisis of Unity? Not Anymore.

by Aviva Cohen Gross, Communications Associate.

Our culture, traditions, and texts consistently remind us that our strength lies in unity.

As Hezkiya taught, “Israel are scattered sheep.” (Jeremiah 50:17) Why are we likened to sheep? Just like a sheep, when one part of us is hurt, the entire community feels the pain (Vayikra Rabbah 4:6). Our culture, traditions, and texts consistently remind us that our strength lies in unity. It’s comforting to witness our collective response in times of crisis, where even the smallest acts of support and encouragement resonate deeply.

It’s been no small comfort to witness our collective response in times of crisis, where even the smallest acts of support and encouragement resonate deeply. So heartening to see the way our community comes together, and to witness the bolstering from our friends and allies.

The weddings that have taken place, the Bnei Mitzvah, and other joyous occasions, as life goes on.

The heartwarming turnout of support for this coffee shop in New York that has been sending it’s profits to Israel:

These generous Americans who came to assist farms in Israel:

The generous soldiers who took care of this plant nursery, so the owner would not lose his livelihood, and those who planted an orange tree to replace the one their vehicle knocked over.

The women bake for Shabbat and prepare extra cookies and rolls for our soldiers, the campaign started to get every soldier a pair of Tzitzit, so they would have the extra protection of a mitzvah, and countless other act of kindness that have united us and made us stronger.

A Song of Ascents; of David. Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!
